It looks good: Truck navigation with new features
PTV TruckNavigator 7 – mobile navigation for vehicle fleets
Karlsruhe, Germany. 9 November 2011. The new PTV TruckNavigator 7 is now available. It provides not only a variety of new features, but also a completely revised navigation view. The latest software version which is specifically designed for truck navigation provides additional settings and an intelligent self-learning mode (ETA).
The PTV TruckNavigator's speed profile functionality includes the new self-learning mode which allows planners to calculate statistical route profiles on the basis of the truck driver's driving behaviour, resulting in a more accurate calculation of the time of arrival. This means that the calculation of travel time is automatically adjusted to individual driving behaviour. All data is of course recorded on a purely anonymous basis. The 'Avoid toll roads' option provides additional cost-saving potential. Toll data is available for France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Poland and Austria (no vignettes).
In the new version, the navigation view has been completely revised. The current position of the vehicles is displayed even more precisely and users can identify the directions more easily thanks to optimised 3D arrows. Moreover, there are numerous new icons, a new option to adjust the display of roads and an enhanced night view which improve usability.
The PTV Truck Navigator now also supports fleet operators offering transport services to the Netherlands: An add-on allows the user to enter the full address without knowing the street by simply specifying the 6-digit postal codes plus house number.
